Featured Facility Projects
Our dynamic engineering team boasts centuries of combined years of experience and have executed hundreds of facilities projects throughout their careers.
With in-office and on-site project experience in both the conventional and thermal spaces, our team is fully equipped to tackle a variety of facilities projects such as compressor stations, gas plant expansions, SAGD applications, oil batteries, and large scale gas processing. Whether Greenfield or Brownfield, we continue to provide our clients with effective and efficient project solutions from concept select through to construction support.
TOWN COMPRESSOR STATION
A 150 MMscfd compressor station c/w inlet separation, gas dehydration, vapour recovery, liquid storage, compression, modularized piperack, flare system, condensate and water pumps, associated utilities (such as FG, IA, MCC, Generator, etc.) and an integrated water hub.
The accompanying water hub manages the produced water, treatment, and recycling, providing a comprehensive solution for sustainable resource management.
STEVEVILLE HELIUM RECOVERY FACILITY
Obsidian designed, constructed, and commissioned a helium recovery facility where raw gas is extracted from nearby wells and pipelined into the main facility where multiple technologies such as amine sweetening, mole sieve separation, cryogenic separation, filtration, and pressure swing adsorption are used to produce ultra-high purity helium.
The plant also extracts fuel gas from the process to power itself. In the next phase, any excess power generated will be connected to the grid, creating an ultra-low emission design.
JULIENNE COMPRESSOR STATION
Brownfield compressor station upgrade c/w new inlet area, separator, sweetener, dehydrator, vapour recovery, HP/LP flare system upgrades, two compressor additions, water pump package, associated utility upgrades (such as MCC, FG, IA, etc.), tank farm, and water handling upgrades.
Obsidian developed an in-depth construction execution plan to ensure minimum impacts to production.
KARR SOUTH OIL BATTERY
Greenfield sour oil battery designed to receive inlet flows of gas, oil, and water, via gathering pipelines from well production.
Obsidian’s scope of work included, multi-disciplinary engineering design deliverables, preparation of material requisitions and evaluations, and was designed for optimal daily output of sales oil.
KARR CENTRAL LIFT GAS FACILITY
Installation of a facility to provide sour lift gas for existing and future multi-well pads upstream of a sour gas plant.
Project included tie-ins at lease edge pipeline risers with major equipment such as inlet separation, four (4) Ariel JGC/4 2-stage compressors driven by Cat G3608 TALE engines, dehydrator, fuel gas package, generators, MCC/control system, instrument air package, and flare system.
